"Painting" with polymer clay has been a newly acquired skill that I have fallen in love with as anyone would know if they read my HeArtfully Creating blog about creativity. As a visual artist, I always painted with acrylics, coloured pencils, and such. Once I was blessed with being able to work in this excellent, colourful bold medium, it opened up a world that instantly appealed to my past desire to work in three dimensions.
My Etsy Shop, A Bergie Creation, has been open since 2008 and it wasn't until 2015, when I began adding handmade jewelry made from polymer clay. So it goes without saying, how thrilled I am to have sold two out of the three, multi-strand necklaces I had/have for sale in my shop. The beads are hand rolled (no special devices to help) and designed by me. There are a few accent beads not made by me, but the majority are polymer clay creations.
I am even more thrilled to have a happy customer let me know that the necklace looked just as great in real life as it did in the photos posted in my Etsy Shop. As an artist and shop owner, it is always inspiring and encouraging to receive photos and feedback about your work. After all, artists are often, their own worst critics. I wanted to share the beautiful photo they took for me. As a bonus, it is even more exciting to have my pieces sold overseas. I get to say that my handmade jewelry is scattered around the world and pretty much every state in the USA and most of my homeland, Canada. Way cool!
More to Come...
I have been diligently working on new bead designs so I can create new line of spring and summer jewelry pieces. It has been a wonderful way to spend winter. Knowing people like your pieces definitely helps inspiring me to pursue this beautiful medium. Here are a couple of quick photos showing a wee bit of the process to creating my polymer clay jewelry.
