Inside My Studio - Sneak Peek at New Pendant Ideas

It's been a busy spring so far. One technique I have been playing around with has been holographic effects and creating jewelry using the beautiful art sheets I was able to make using alcohol inks (coming soon). As I refine the techniques I hope to list my new designs in my Etsy shop A Bergie Creation (click here).

Holographic Pendants

INSIDE MY STUDIO: New Jewellery - Metallics To Holo Glitters

Metallics And Holographic Glitters are two of my newest favourite surface finishes for my polymer clay beads and such. The variations in hues give great dimension to my jewellery pieces. The metallic powders used mostly for nail art designs are called Chrome and my fave Chameleon. You can really see it in the photo below. The beads toward the top left are a plum colour, yet the edges  transform into a pretty green hue. Hence the name chameleon I assume. Depending on the lighting and angle you look at the surface, the colour shift happens. Holographic glitter or Holo Glitter, is sparkly like all glitter does but, it is the best I have seen because it too reflects different colours. It looks as if the surface dances as you move it around. All so very cool!

I think you can see why I would get addicted making beads and therefore delayed at turning the beads into jewellery for my shop. I want to make beads and dangles in all the possible colours!

Well here we are. The last few days have been spent creating and photographing and now listing my new pieces in my Etsy shop (click here for that).

Below I wanted to share some in process photos as well as some extra pics of what I am listing today and by the end of the week. There will be a lot more to come soon.

In My Studio: Summer Highlights

Welcome! I am thrilled that we have summer weather finally in the air. It was a touch and go spring for us in Northwestern Ontario. Which means I get to work more on my art work because I's not distracted with the temptation to go outside. Who am I kidding, I don't get  that tempted to go outdoors. I can't make art outside, so indoors is where life happens the most for me. Can still hear my mom say. "Anita, you need fresh air!" Sorry Mom, need to create more.

SUMMER FEELING- ABC's Summer Fashion Necklaces

 Enjoying summer? Just thought I would make a short video featuring some of my new  "Spring and Summer" fashion necklaces. Of course I love colour, so I would wear any of these pieces, any time of the year. In fact, have you ever noticed how bright colours bring a smile to your heart, in the depths of a dark cold winter? No? Well, if you live any where near Northwestern Ontario, you will know what I am talking about :o)

I have to say my favourite newest pendant necklace is the brightly coloured polymer clay piece above. Using little three dimensional dots of colour remind me of the beautiful work of the late artist, Georges Seurat. Have a click here if you want to learn about his pointillism technique.
