I am about to list my first pair of copper chain tassel earring! (JUST LISTED IT NOW- Click here to see!!) Dangling tassels are so fun and definitely have been popular for the last few years or so. I am a wee behind on trends in fashion accessories, well any trends really. Inspired by some fine copper chain I found in my art making supplies. The links were too teeny to thread a clasp through so I thought, voila! What a great way to make tassels! Chain has great swing and movement. To take a super closer look, I made a video to watch right HERE!
On top of that, it was a great way to finally use my handmade resin cube beads. They were made using duo or two colour sparkling pigment flakes, from violet to turquoise blue green and the accent polymer clay beads, were coated with emerald green that transforms to a gorgeous violet hue. Inside these glass like resin cubes is a layer of brown mica powder and a thin undetectable layer of glow in the dark powder. Below are some pics that I originally took when I made the beads, showing the glow in the dark abilities! They need to be "charged" with sunlight or uv light before glowing. The glow doesn't last super long but still really fun.
The ear wires were handformed and slightly hammered for texture. I love the whole look of these tassel earrings. Copper is a great metal and colour. These turned out so wee that I made another longer pair using my newest "fux" turquoise beads. Stay tuned to see them in my Etsy shop, A Bergie Creation.
Hello everyone. It has been a while since I have made any new posts regarding my shop. Definitely been a crazy summer. Hey that reminds me of a movie from the 1980s called "One Crazy Summer," with a much younger John Cusack. Would I recommend the movie? Well.... it was definitely one shop talk. It is hard to believe that my shop has been open since 2008, I am not that great with math but that means almost 10 years! Time sure flies by. one of my number one bestsellers has and still is (or is it are?), The Mini collection. You will see a few of them at the end of the video that I made just for this post. Over 1000 pairs sold all over the world! It is an honor just knowing that :o)
crazy Summer. Anyhoo, back to
Geo Hoops?
Back to a closer look inside my studio... These style of earrings are similar to the mini collection, that's why brought them up. They're made with wire, usually hammered for texture, and are flat so they can be mailed with free shipping, in a letter style envelope. However, they are not the same and that they are rectangle hoops instead of round swirl or spiral hoops. They're actually rectangle swirls or spirals. They aren't actually new to my shop because I first designed them back in my shop began. What's new about them today is I have decided to offer them in a couple of different metals. Instead of just silver-plated (excellent quality silverplating that is), I will now make them in solid copper and solid brass. All of them an eighteen 18 gauge wire.

Hula Hoop A Rectangle?
No it doesn't make sense to call a rectangle a hoop. Ever try to hula hoop a rectangle? Anything with a corner for that matter? Nope, it just doesn't work. I call them rectangle hoops for lack of a better word. Just like regular hoops, you know the round kind, they are put on the same way. This shape is just different. As you look in my shop, you will see that I call all of those kind of flat earrings, "hoops." Be it a rectangle, triangle, square or round. Lack of a better word really. I think you get the idea.
These earrings just like the MINI collection, are very easy to wear and are lightweight. If you're interested in seeing more of what is in my shop at Etsy, just click here A Bergie Creation.

Here it is! Take a detailed, closer look at "Viktoria." The video below, features extra pictures of before, during and after the creation process. Hoping to give a better look at this handmade pendant necklace that I am listing (click here), in my Etsy shop, A Bergie Creation.

A Few Thoughts About Viktoria
Turquoise green is one of my most favourite colours. I know I am not alone because it is a colour that is appearing everywhere! This pendant necklace was designed using a blended turquoise green polymer clay on a metallic gold with copper as well. The turquoise was used to do the sutton slice technique in a Lisa Pavelka floral stamp design. She is a well known polymer clay artist who has great stamps, books and tutorials. I usually make my own textures and designs but for the sutton slice I needed to use a rubber stamp. Click my Creativity blog here if you want to see how I made this piece from scratch.
Once the piece was fired, I turned the oval shape into a metallic looking pendant using clay and mica powders. Enhancing the metallic feel with a copper coil bale. To add a bit of a sheen, the floral piece was coated with a clear embossing powder. The entire pendant was suspended on turquoise blue/green and taupe coloured silk sari ribbon and a handmade copper clasp with wire wrapped ends.
Take a Closer and Behind the scenes look at Funkaliscious, my new cool art piece necklace. You can connect directly to this one of a kind art pendant here in my Etsy shop!

Hi guys! A Bergie Creation's number one seller since 2008, has been the "MINI" Collection. Wanting to create a handmade item that was affordable and would be easy to ship worldwide using a regular
envelope, the flat, wire hoop was created. Not saying that no one else creates earrings like these, but, the idea came and I began selling them very quickly. To date, world wide, there are over 1000 pairs of A Bergie Creation (That's me, Anita Berglund :o) MINI collection assorted hoops on people's ear lobes! Pretty cool. Just today, I am processing an order for a silver filled pair to the United Kingdom! I love the idea of my jewellery being sent to people across the ocean - from Canada! The bestest thing of all is these earrings are mailed for FREE -all over the world! To enable that, I use regular envelope mail, so it can take longer than special packet mail. But, Customers do have the option to pay for shipping upgrade.
As you can see in the item descriptions in my shop on Etsy, these earrings are offered in a variety of metals, solid copper, brass, German Nickel Silver, Oxidized Copper, and Silver Filled and Gold Filled (not solid). Because the silver filled and gold filled 24k, is such a good quality at an affordable price, I do not sell solid sterling or gold. Just too expensive. When a wire says "filled" it is a base wire like brass, specially layered with the precious metal like silver or gold, making it much more durable than anything labelled, "Plated." Over 1000 sales of these earrings and no complaints about allergies or sensitivities. So that is why "filled" is a great affordable substitute.
Thank you for stopping by! Please feel free to share and like, subscribe and all that fun stuff! It helps a lot.
Yay! I made it before the day is over! Here is the second puffy heart polymer clay pendant necklace. It was designed using the DARIA, Mokume-Gane Design Cane, that is why it is called #3. Click here to take a look at it in my shop. This piece was sanded, buffed and waxed so it has a low sheen, not glossy and not not matt. So I think that is more of a satin finish.
Love the whole blue family! Perhaps because on a sunny day, you can see it forever. Thanks God for Blues. Well, thank You for ALL colour and the eyes to see them. May we never take that gift for granted. Click here to see DARIA #3 in my Shop at Etsy, A Bergie Creation.
